The Continental Tradition
A survey of Continental philosophy focusing on ideas of science, education, and the university. Readings include Kant, Hegel, Humboldt, Nietzsche, Weber, Derrida, Habermas, Kamuf, Said, and Moten. -
PHIL 210 —
17th- and 18th-Century Philosophy
A survey of early modern philosophy with an emphasis on metaphysics and epistemology. Examining classic texts from Descartes to Kant, including women philosophers such as Elisabeth, Masham, Shepherd, and du Châtelet. -
PHIL 239 —
Critical Reasoning
An introduction to reconstructing and assessing arguments. Pedagogical focus on weekly collaborative problem sets.
